Behind the story

Meet the team that brought S-Cube to life

Every significant project starts with an idea. Our ambition is to break the limits equipment places on experimentation and to create tools which convert today’s ideas into tomorrow’s technologies much faster – with a little help from the S-Cube team.

Complex projects have given us an understanding of the challenges faced by customers from various industries and research fields. One of those challenges was the time-consuming process of developing an optimal vacuum chamber design for extremely demanding applications. Our engineers aimed to deliver a controlled vacuum space with possible modification throughout the course of the experimental procedure without the need to create a new chamber.

STREICHER S-Cube in Physics World magazine

Physics World is the member journal of the Physical Society in Great Britain and Ireland (IOP). The journal aims to inform the general public about world-class research and innovation.

The article explains the advantages of a modular design compared to a conventional welded vacuum chamber.

Customer Reviews

What was your impression of the S-Cube?

The S-Cube is a very versatile concept that is to my knowledge unique in the European market. It allows to adapt to rapidly changing requirements in a testing department.

What problem you wanted to solve with our product?

We are supporting a wide variety of tests on both component and system level and need to support a wide range of sizes and test options. In order to stay compatible with changes in our product portfolio, the modular nature of the S-Cube is very attractive.

What would you say to someone who asked about us?

We really appreciated the professional and quick support of our request and a well though out product that can potentially adapt to a number of requirements.

What was your impression of the S-Cube?

We were looking for a modular vacuum chamber for our research department. The S-Cube, being a modular system, seemed to offer exactly what we needed for our project. A high quality, good looking and easy-to-modify vacuum system.

What problem you wanted to solve with our product?

Industrial machines for additive manufacturing are often designed to last for a long period of time. They are not meant to be modified. In research however, we are often faced with rapidly changing technologies that need to be implemented and tested in our test rigs . We need to be able to rapidly adapt our system without having to build a whole new machine. The modularity of the S-Cube offers exactly that.

What would you say to someone who asked about us?

The experience we had during the meetings and the written exchange with the company was really positive. The response time was short and the interest in our project was high. It is a real pleasure to cooperate with such a company.

What was your impression of the S-Cube?

In general, the S-cube system is very well designed and performs as advertised. As we said above it is the one that stands out in the lab !

What problem you wanted to solve with our product?

The goal was to be able to reach high vacuum inside the chamber to accommodate for a high intensity laser system. The chamber had to be isolated from the breadboard to minimize vibrations and the design had to ensure that frequent venting; opening and closing would not misalign the complex beam path inside.

As of today, the laser system has not yet be added. Given the performances of the vacuum we are not worried that the performances will be met.

What would you say to someone who asked about us?

We would highly recommend Streicher !
